All trips include Coast Guard Licensed guide, first class fishing gear and bait, and cleaning of your fish.

For those anglers who plan to fish full day trips, you can bring your own snacks, refreshments, and lunch or we can provide sack lunches for those who may desire them at $15 per person.
Layered warm clothing and rain gear is suggested in case the weather is inclement. And be sure to bring your cameras and plenty of film and batteries. Dry storage is provided on all the boats for your clothing and cameras.

FISH PROCESSING AVAILABLE ON-SITE
Your catch can be professionally vacuum packed and frozen on-site, ready for you to take with you on your return trip home or we can ship it directly to your door upon your return home. Don't take a chance in not getting your own fish returned to you after processing. We guarantee you will get your own fish back!

We have several lodging options ranging from rooms with a kitchenette to self-contained cabins with every amenity for "do-it-yourselfers" to full service lodging with all meals. Our Homesteader's Log Cabin is a semi-secluded Four Bedroom, Two Bath log cabin located on three acres. Centrally located 10-15 minutes from the Kenai River, Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, Centennial Park Campground fishing, major chain stores, restaurants, and Kenai - Soldotna visitor centers. Furnished with all new appliances, dishwasher, coffee maker, cable tv and phone for free local calls. This large cabin is ideal for groups of four to ten individuals. Fully furnished with all kitchen utensils and cookery, full size stove and refrigerator, with outdoors barbecue grill to cook up that catch-of-the-day. This is a great place to get away for those not wanting to be in a regimented daily schedule of activities. Just a short walk over to the famous Kenai River to "wet your line." There are other public access areas (Bing's Landing/Morgan's Landing/Isaac Walton Park) within 10 minutes driving time of the cabin where you can fish on your own. Most of our guests prefer to go with a guide at first, to "learn the ropes."
Depending on the size of your group, choose either the 2 bedroom (6 beds) totally refurbished Alaskan cabin or the new 1 bedroom rooftop apartment. Both places have a fully equipped modern kitchen with everything you need to assist in making a meal to replenish those hungry appetites after a hard day of fighting pristine Alaskan fish. If you prefer to grill outside, there is a convenient BBQ grill and picnic table available for your use near the open fire pit.
The Sterling Retreat is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Soldotna and a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, fishing tackle supplies, etc. The cabin location also allows you relatively easy access to all three sections of the 85 mile Kenai River; the Lower, the Middle and the Upper. The Russian River sockeye fishery is about 30 minutes drive to red hot fishing during the two salmon runs beginning on June 11 and running through the second week of August.
