Riverside Cabin on the Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska
Bob's Cabin and Guide Service Riverside Cabin on the Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska Right next door to our Soldotna Riverfront Lodge is our smaller Riverfront Cabin. This unit has just finished a complete remodeling of the interior and exterior along with the construction of an additional bedroom with private bath including new laundry facilities. Both bedrooms contain Queen size beds. In addition the new back bedroom has a combo Full size bed with a single bunk above to accommodate larger groups. A comfortable futon in the main living area functions as a couch during the day but can convert to a fold out bed if additional sleeping space is needed. This cabin is ideal for two couples or medium size groups of fishing buddies and now offers similar amenities as the larger Log Lodge on the same property next door.

The cabin has a full size refrigerator/freezer, a separate freezer, microwave, full size stove/oven, and has a coffee maker and toaster as well as a new dishwasher to make your stay as convenient and comfortable as possible. The kitchen has a full complement of cooking utensils for those wanting to prepare their own meals and lunches for their daily activities. The front deck porch has a propane barbecue grill and there is a picnic table overlooking the river along with a fire pit to use. This lodging also has High Definition Satellite TV programming and a large flat screen TV. The cabin also has WiFi Internet access for those who bring laptops or have smart phones that can access the Internet. To complete the picture the area has full cell phone coverage by several Alaskan carriers as well as AT&T for all your mobile phone needs.

The location of the cabin is literally minutes away from the center of Soldotna where all services can be found. Excellent restaurants, cafes, fast food chains, major name grocery stores, gas stations, post office and shopping is all available in this quaint little riverside town. Several businesses offer full customized fish processing, freezing, packaging and even shipping if you desire these services. The cabin offers the same 150 feet of EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE Kenai River fishing to complement other guided fishing activities you may also engage in. This location is especially great during the massive Kenai River sockeye salmon run which begins in July and runs into early August when the silver salmon runs start into the river to replace the sockeye action.

The Kenai River's fantastic trout fishing provides many anglers a chance to catch fish that are many times bigger than most anglers have ever caught before. Dolly Varden and Rainbow Trout are numerous throughout the Kenai River and the highest concentrations and largest fish can be found directly below areas where salmon anglers are cleaning their catch and tossing the fish waste and scraps into the river. Such is the case of this unique location where a public fishing area just a few yards further upstream provides the public a location to catch thousands of sockeye and feed "our" trout downstream.

Over one million salmon pass by this fishing hot spot each year including 700,000-1,000,00+ sockeye salmon, 50,000-70,000 King salmon and a late summer and fall run of silver salmon in the tens of thousands.
